The EV charging market has stopped rewarding whoever builds fastest and started rewarding whoever builds best. The operators pulling ahead are making their sites profitable from day one, then rolling that same design out at pace. Key takeaways Kempower flagged something in their latest update that deserves every operator's attention. Across Europe, charge point operators…

Public charging still grades itself on uptime. The operators winning drivers are measuring something harder, and building the experience to match. Ask a charge point operator how its network is performing and the answer usually comes back as an uptime figure. Availability of 99% or more reads well in a board report and satisfies the…

You can identify a Fastned site before you can read the signage. Drive past one on a motorway and the yellow Solar Tree canopy registers in less than a second. You don't need to see the logo, the chargers, or the entry. The canopy alone tells you what you're looking at and what to expect…

Formula Space has been recognised as a Leading Innovator in EV Charging Infrastructure 2026 at the SME News UK Transport Awards. The recognition reflects something we have believed since the company was founded: that the EV charging sector needs partners who are willing to build what the industry is missing, not just supply what already…

Why regional charging disparities matter & the current landscape in the UK Regional charging disparities are no longer a side issue in the UK’s electrification journey Not because the UK is failing to deploy infrastructure, but because the way infrastructure is being deployed produces predictable geographic imbalances. It is not that the commercials are completely…

In late November 2025, the UK government unveiled its Budget 2025, and it brings significant changes for electric vehicles (EVs) and the wider sustainable transport ecosystem.Chancellor Rachel Reeves’ budget speech outlined a landmark shift in EV taxation by introducing a mileage-based road levy, alongside new incentives for EV buyers, funding for charging infrastructure, and planning…

The rollout of electric vehicle (EV) chargers across Europe is accelerating. But as the network expands, a new challenge has emerged: quality and capacity now matter more than raw numbers. What matters to drivers is whether the charger is available, working, and capable of delivering a meaningful top-up in the time it takes to grab…

When CableGuard® was first discussed around September 2024, it wasn’t in a boardroom. It began in conversations with clients across the UK who were suddenly facing the same growing problem EV charger cable theft. The issue was spreading fast, with stories of cut cables, vandalised sites and frustrated drivers making headlines. Operators were searching for a…

Electric vehicle (EV) charging cable theft has surged into a significant issue for charge point operators (CPOs) across the UK and Europe. Recent police and industry data reveal a dramatic spike in incidents. In the UK, thefts of charging cables more than doubled in 2024 compared to the previous year. One police region even reported…

July’s official statistics distributed by the Department of Transport using mostly ZapMap data put the public charger tally at 82,002 devices, a 44% increase on last year but a long way from the 300,000 points ministers say will be needed by 2030. If growth keeps drifting along at the recent monthly average of circa 1,250…
